This walk extends the Burning Cliff walk by taking an inland path to Chaldon Down to the east of White Nothe. The walk returns along the South West Coast Path over White Nothe. This walk provides fine views of the Dorset downland meeting the sea.
Chaldon Down provides rich habitats for insects and wild flowers. Vetches, milkworts and wild orchids florish in the thin, dry soils overlying the chalk of the downland.
Ringstead is sign posted off the A353 from Weymouth towards Wareham. After leaving the A353 take the second turning to the right down the toll road to Ringstead village. Pay the toll at the kiosk next to the car park.
