River Frome, Wareham, Dorset

This is a circular walk that leaves Wareham along the river bank towards Poole Harbour and returns through Bestwall Park. The walk also includes a short section of the Wareham town walls.

We did this walk again during March 2008 and have updated captions on some of the directions photos.

September 2012: We have had reports that some of the footpaths on this walk have suffered from a lack of maintenance and have become dangerous.

Beware of stinging nettles next to the path along river bank. The part of the walk along the river bank can be a little exposed on a windy day.
