Ox Drove Way, Martin Down, Hampshire |
 |
|
The walk starts by crossing the main road from the car park to join the footpath along the route of the old Roman Road. After crossing a minor road the walk continues along a footpath across a number of fields to the Ox Drove Track which it follows for about 2 miles /3 km. The walk then returns to the car park via a minor road and footpath through the woodland of Vernditch Chase.
See the detailed walk directions.
Ox Drove Tracks were once used to take cattle to market, they allowed the ox drovers to avoid paying the tolls on the main roads.
Please check our walk preparation guide.
