Fontmell, Dorset, South West England

At 293 hectares Fontmell and Melbury Downs are the National Trust's largest chalk downland site. Here there are extensive walks providing stunning views over the surrounding countryside.
If you would like a longer walk, why not combine all three walks. The combined walk is 4.8 miles / 7.7 km.
Compton Abbas is on the A350 Blandford Forum to Shaftesbury road. From Compton Abbas take the road towards Ashmore. Turn left at the next crossroads. The Fontmell car park is just after the turning to the airfield.
